2007 / 2008 COMPETITION ANGLING RULES
The competition for the Club Championship will commence on Saturday 1st September 2007 and will finish Saturday 31st May, 2008.
- The main competition will be fished on weekends.
- The Club Championship will be limited to Port Phillip Bay and restricted to an area of 16Km radius from the club i.e. From Black Rock to Point Cook.
- The competition will begin at 12:01am each competition day and finish at 2:00 pm on the same day, when all fish must be on the club premises to be weighed in by 2.00pm.
- The minimum weight for Snapper will be 1Kg for weigh in. The point system is 1 point per fish and 1 point per kilogram thereafter. Example : A 1.2Kg snapper earns 2.2 points, and a 1.6Kg Snapper earns 2.6 points. (Any questions see an angling Committee member or Scorer) Points will be awarded per fish.
- Only Snapper will be eligible to be weighed in for the Club Championship.
- Gummy or Tooth Shark: the minimum will be 3kg cleaned to be eligible for weigh in
- The Competition will close over the March Labour Day long weekend.
- Land based anglers are eligible to compete providing Weigh-In Rules are adhered to.
- Any incorrect entry on the Weigh-In Sheets will mean a loss of points for that angler and a second offence will eliminate him/her from further competition. (At the discretion of the Angling Committee).
- Fishing Marks must be accurately recorded so that all members receive a fair go.
- Any breach of the Angling Laws could cost the member all accrued points (at the discretion of the Angling Committee).
- Boats housed outside the Club may be entered in the Competition, provided they are registered with the Boathouse Captain or Scorer.
- Maimed fish ie. Mutilated by sharks will not be eligible.
- A fish that has been landed on another person's rod will be credited to the owner of the rod.
- If any angler has knowledge of a competitor breaking the rules, they are obliged to report the offence to the Angling Committee in writing within seven days.
- Special awards will be given for spectacular catches outside our jurisdiction ie. Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna etc. (as some of our members regularly visit New South Wales coastal areas etc)
- More than 6 anglers fishing outside the club (on a club-organised trip) will constitute a competition with appropriate awards.
- All fishing must comply with the requirements of the current Fishing Regulations of the State of Victoria.
- No fishing 6 hours prior to Competition days.
- Midweek Competition started Monday 3rd September 2007 and finishes Friday 30th May 2008.
- Competition times are as follows: Monday 12:01 am – Friday 18:00 pm
- Another club member must witness all fish over 3kg.
THESE RULES MUST BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO:
Decisions by the Angling Committee will be final and binding.
